One of the first questions people ask is: how much does cleaning cost? The honest answer is that it depends on the job. Two three-bedroom houses in Serekunda can need very different amounts of work. Here is what decides the price of house cleaning in The Gambia, so you know what to expect.
What affects the price of cleaning?
- Size of the property: the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms and floors.
- Condition: a home cleaned every week is quicker than one that has not been cleaned for months, or one just finished by builders.
- Type of cleaning: regular cleaning, deep cleaning, move-out cleaning and post-construction cleaning all take different amounts of time.
- Extras: inside the fridge or oven, balconies, sofas, mattresses and carpets.
- Team size and time: a typical home visit takes 4 cleaners about 5 to 6 hours.
- Location: jobs further out, such as Brikama, may include transport.
- How often: regular weekly or monthly clients usually get better value than one-off bookings.
How sofa and mattress cleaning is priced
Sofa cleaning is usually priced per seat, so a 3-seater costs less than a 7-seater sectional. Mattresses are priced per mattress, depending on size.
